  This section describes how to connect to a SDR4E using a CAT-5 cross-over cable or a network hub.

Configuration: A-SDR4E
1.

Using the arrow buttons move to Network > Network Setup.

2. In the connection field, select LAN and press the Setup button.
 
3. In the IP field enter 192.168.1.129.
4. In the Gateway field enter 192.168.1.254.
5. In the Subnet Mask field enter 255.255.255.0.
6. Select OK.
   
 
Configuration: PC
Note: The diagrams in the following section are from the Windows 98 operating system. As a result, your configuration may vary slightly depending on your operating system.
1.

From the PC desktop select Start > Settings > Control Panel.

2. Select Network.
3. From the Network Properties dialog box select the Configuration Tab.
4. Select the TCP/IP > Your network card identification from the list of installed components.
   

 
5. Select the Properties button.
6. From the TCP/IP Properties dialog box select the IP Address Tab.
   

 
7. Select the Specify an IP address option.
8. Enter 192.168.1.130 in the IP Address field.
9. Enter 255.255.255.0 in the Subnet Mask field.
10. Select OK from the TCP/IP Properties dialog box.
11. Select OK from the Network Properties dialog box.
12. When prompted to reboot select YES.
13. After reboot, configure the RAS software as described in the section A-SDR4E RAS Adding a Remote Site be sure to use 192.168.1.129 as the SDR4E IP address.
